I’m Here! lol….

Hello!

Firstly let me wish you all a happy easter; spent in the way that brings you most joy…I have arrived at the place that is guaranteed to bring loads of fun my way. Yep, I am camped at a scouts campground outside Wagga Wagga with a heap of other travelling merry makers for the Stone the Crows Festival. This is the first year it has been put on but I can guarantee it won’t be the last and, though it is still early days (oWnly got underway yesterday lol), it promises to be a great way to spend your holiday! I won’t dwell too much on it because I want to make a special blog at the end, dedicated to sharing the laughter and comeraderie with you all out there. Suffice it to say I have already made some lovely friends and I only got here last eve!

When last I blogged, I left you at the doorstep of mutual friends of my lovely friends lol.. now I made that unnecessarily complicated didn’t I? I count them now as my friends too and I sincerely hope they will give me the opportunity to return their hospitality 🙂 I spent two days with this lovely family, I will not name them as I have a deep respect for others’ privacy. Alex played himself to a standstill on both days with their gorgeous Staffie, both brought so much joy to watch.. both with big smiles on their faces and sharing a ball obsession lol. Usually Alex lost the race but you know I could see he didn’t mind, just happy to be playing with a doggy friend and running free for he was never leashed there. No need, there was heaps of room and Alex could always be found either with his new mate or yours truly lol… he mooched his way into the hearts of the family too, thrilled to be petted and loved by so many more LOL.. they had a young boy there who enjoyed throwing the ball for both dogs, ahh he was in heaven!

I tried not to intrude as the lady of the house had to work and it was the man of the house’s days off. I know they never saw me in that light, its just my way. Something I have always been keenly aware of and besides, though it might appear otherwise, I am somewhat shy when getting to know new people. They are just lovely, I will always treasure the time spent there. After the dramas of the last few days, it was such a balm to my soul. The farm itself was so very peaceful, the mountain views and the beautiful big old tree just up from my motorhome conspiring to lull this spirit back to her natural state.. a deep sense of inner peace.

Though I was welcome to stay on as long as I wanted, I opted to leave on the Thursday morning, knowing I had the festival to go to.. lol in true blonde fashion though I had my days mixed up, thinking I needed to get to the festival on the Friday .. thankfully when I got my permit printed out I found my error and, though late I still made it on the right day. I really do not want to miss any of it to be honest lol.

I was going to go back into Wodonga and find the RV washing place but it started bucketing down as I travelled the Hume Freeway.. nope do not need to wash the motorhome, with the amount of grot I would encounter, I knew it would be money wasted. Besides most of it would wash off with the rain being so damn heavy LOL… there is always a silver lining 😛
I knew I had enough diesel to get to Culcairn so I turned off onto the Olympic Highway and headed towards Wagga. The rain was easing just a little though I continued to drive a little slower than usual. I made sure I got over, slowed down and indicated to let others pass who were not as cautious as I… there was one incident that brought my spirits way up too. Some thanked me by waving as they went past or tooting the horn.. those in cars that is…. trucks tend to blink once either side after they go past, well most of them as some do not acknowledge your kindness lol… well we are all different and to be honest I am happy to have those types off my rear end; its safer you know? One truck though really outdid himself. After he passed, he indicated several times from one side to the other and finished it off by flashing his hazard lights at me 🙂 I laughed out loud with delight… what a great way to say thanks! Made up for those who didn’t hehe.

I got my diesel in Culcairn, stopping as much to check my motorhome’s lights as anything else lol. You see as I came into Culcairn more than one car flashed its lights at me… hmmm might have one out? Nope, whats more a lovely man informed me it was the true blue sign on her lol.. onya love he declared 😛

I continued on to Wagga Wagga itself. I still needed to get my permit printed out after all lol and I thought I might do some last minute grocery shopping while I was at it. Well now I hate to say this but there are not many friendly or helpful people in Wagga or at least not many I ran into. I went into a computer shop to enquire and I was totally ignored for quite some while.. I had been given the once over by the man behind the counter and obviously found lacking lol.. I refused to budge and so eventually he had no choice but to come and serve me 😛 I asked him if he could print out the permit if I brought in my laptop or bought a usb to download it onto and bring that in instead. He looked down his nose at me and said .. well your best bet would be to buy a thumb drive, put it on there and bring it in. We only have the larger sizes though and they are a little expensive.. hmmm I could afford that but I decided to blow him off.

I do not enjoy people judging me like that. It isnt as if I do not dress well.. grrrr I would take my business elsewhere. Now this is a bit of a shocker but I have to give Telstra a big thumbs up here lol. I found a Telstra shop and explained my dilemma. A very nice young man let me go into my email on his computer and he printed it out for me.. at no charge as I am a Telstra customer… well I have a lot of problems happening with Telstra right now.. this young man, in my humble opinion is a true asset and they had better treat him well. And whats more he is one a very small group of souls in that town who are friendly, In the end I did not even bother shopping for my groceries there but hightailed it to the Festival where friendliness is the norm rather than the exception I have found…. blessings to you all, will write when the festival is at an end…
