Promise to the Earth
I walk upon the earth with a deep instinctual love
for all our Mother gives us as the stars smile from above.
I feel Her rhythmic heartbeat pulsing deep within my soul;
I know only through her rebirth will humanity evolve.
I cry aloud her agony born of treatment in the past:
In ignorance we tortured Her; She’s almost breathed her last.
Forgive us Mother for we knew not what we had done
As time again we plundered in the name of greed, or fun?
The babies of the Universe, it’s time for us to grow
and make amends by healing Her or reap just what we sow.
I’ve faith that we can do it, that we’re growing up at last.
Let’s learn to live in harmony and let go of the past.
We are shining sparks of all that is: magnificent, it’s true;
We are love in all its glory. You are me and I am you.
