A New Adventure Begins
Hi there,
It has been some time since I have blogged but then again its been a long time since I have been able to go adventuring 😛
I began my latest magical mystery tour on, what else considering its me lol, the Ides of March! Interesting omen and I knew it wasn’t going to be the easy start my trip to and along the Great Ocean Road was four years ago! True there have been many little trips, the discovery of my home base and the making of many beautiful friendships along the way, not to mention the various fur babies I have had the pleasure of minding. I have also been finishing the many projects that needed to be done on my beloved motorhome. Takes money that and when you are doing it on a .. ahem .. beer budget LOL, well it takes an awful lot of time and patience also.
Most done now and I just had to get out onto the road again. This time, my destination is the Great Australian Bight.
I am in no hurry which is a lucky thing as Mother Nature throws her might around willy nilly, daring me to take her on. I may be blonde but I am not that silly lol. I did take of in torrential rain tis true… well when ya gotta go, you know? 😀
I took a super quick trip to Coffs Harbour to do some paperwork that couldn’t wait and had a cuppa with my daughter and the grandies while I was at it on the way back. Next up Port Macquarie where I caught up with a lovely friend of mine, missed out on seeing another and made my way down to Taree, just 72 kilometres away … huge journey that LOL…
However, I was determined to catch up with my beautiful long term friends there for longer than the few days I had only managed each time previously. The rains followed me and so I decided to stay for the fortnight, a week of which was spent at the showgrounds there and this next week free camping out the front of their place. I guess for many such stopovers might seem very conservative but for this woman, the spending of quality time with quality people surpasses all else and besides, I have given myself till August to return so time is not of the essence.
Already my journey has had its irritating and amusing moments, two of which came from the same person and worth sharing for its entertainment value. I was looking forward to having a couple of quiet days in the showground, the first hour of which was just that. As I settled in, plugging in the electricity cord etc as you do when you need to recharge your batteries, motor home included! As I walked around the showground, getting an idea of where the facilities were placed, I came across a couple of guys who were obviously doing the same as me. I responded pleasantly to their greetings while at the same time remaining a little aloof. I had learned last time that age is no barrier to the opposite sex imagining any single woman is in need of ‘male companionship’.
All was well and I sauntered back to my little home on wheels, taking note of a coaster with a single lady at the wheel pulling in beside me. Oh how good is that? I thought to myself, giving her a grin.
We exchanged a greeting as we passed each other. My first thought for no known reason was that she liked her own sex in more than a platonic way and then I thought no more of it as I retreated inside out of the rain.
I must admit it was lovely to be playing a bit of a recluse, more tired from the previous few days than I realised.
The next morning as I was returning from the shower, readying myself to walk to the gym which was only ten minutes away by foot despite the rain, I noticed she was outside under her awning reading and beside her was a Burmese cat! Now I love animals so as you can imagine it lifted my heart along with my lips as I smiled in delight at the sight. Greeting the cat with ‘Hello Beautiful’ and nodding amicably to its human companion, politely ignoring the sight of her large breasts clearly visible beneath her see through top, free from the restrictions of a bra. I trudged on down the road to the entrance and the road to the gym, grinning to myself as I thought of the men who were in the showground. Interesting times ahead no doubt. I grinned as I imagined their reaction to her appearance.
I loved the people in the gym, friendly and open to helping each other, and felt better for having done the core exercises my particular set of body challenges require. I wandered further into the local Coles outlet and got some milk (MUST have milk for coffeeeee ) and made my way back to my little home. I was hot, tired and sore by then as the supermarket was a bit longer than I had expected so I decided to have a quiet read while laying flat … might just iron out some of my kinks lol.
That was the moment my neighbour decided to get out her guitar and play. Her skills on the guitar were great and I was rather pleased to have some music as it often soothes the jangled nerves body pain can bring, as many reading this blog would know 🙂 Then she began to sing; well we will call it singing to be polite. OMG! She must be tone deaf! I tried so hard to be patient as I do believe in live and let live. Not easy and it didn’t help that she raised her voice ever louder. The guy I had met previously had moved beside her and had been talking to her the previous evening so I naturally thought she was trying to impress him. Well unless he was tone deaf too, I doubted her success on that score.
This went on for about an hour and a half. Just when I thought I wouldn’t be able to stop myself from yelling at her to shut up (even turning on the tv and upping its volume didn’t drown her out), she stopped! YES! I cannot tell you how relieved I was. I avoided her for the next couple of days, sorry I had paid in advance. Had I not, I think I would have left there and then. I thawed a bit towards her though when I saw her lovely cat outside again and as I was cooking a chicken dish, I decided to offer her the offcuts for the puss. She was really thrilled and the cat ate it up with relish.
She spent most evenings talking with the man and so I figured I must have been wrong about her being more interested in her sisters than her brothers lol. The night before I left, I again took over some lovely scraps for her cat, his scrawniness a worry for me though I’ve no doubt she loved him very much. She took the opportunity to erm feel me out about travelling together, informing me less than subtly she is gay. I have gay friends, I don’t find that an issue but I am not that way inclined and was just as subtle in letting her know lol. Happily she was heading north while I am heading south. I doubt we will run into each other again … at least not for a long while lol.
Now that was funny, I mused, must share it. Here I was thinking she was interested in the guy beside her, mind you she might have been for all I knew but if that was the case, she was most definitely hedging her bets! Well there you have the first instalment of my latest adventure. Though I am not really ‘on the road properly’ as always the laughs are abundant.
