LOVE WAITS HERE
She sits by the window,
her hair hides her face;
She longs for her daddy,
of him there’s no trace.
She needs him to love her,
Else she won’t be whole.
The family’s broken …
He’s out in the cold.
‘Why can’t daddy visit?
Or live here again?’
Her heart is so heavy
With worry and pain.
‘I’ll be such a good girl,
God, please hear my prayer.
Though I love my mummy
I need Daddy here.’
Her tears falling freely,
She stumbles away;
She won’t see him coming ,,,
At least not today.
