Moving on…

From Lighthouse Beach to Glenreagh Rec Grounds and its beautiful feathered denizens….moving on šŸ™‚

Ah well all good things must come to an end so other good things may take their place. The memories though, never leave as they hover in the shadows of our minds. My time at Lighthouse Beach, looking after the beautiful home and gardens of lovely friends is no exception.

I must admit that in the last week my feet were beginning to itch as my spirit felt called to other adventures. Not to say this one was not a bright spot in life; it was Frankie delighted in having the freedom of running around the yard without a lead, no matter how long. I of course relished the serenity, the closeness of the beautiful beach and though it was a part of a regional city, had all the feels of a gentle country town. Yes there were close neighbours but none encroached. They were friendly, waving or saying hello if we crossed paths. Some even stopped for a chat…Frankie made sure of that. My boy is such a social butterfly and never lets a chance go by to make a new human friend. Very few can resist his charm so of course I too end up making friends wherever we go.

So it was with mixed feeling that I set off for the next stage of my journey, my need to get going warring with the joy that lovely place offered. My boy is not a natural traveller, despite what I was told, so I try to ensure his comfort by taking short trips and longer stops …. Of course that means lots of exploring and greeting humans and small dogs alike lol… something Frankie, as mentioned, excels at. I on the other hand tend towards a less friendly outlook on life when it comes to humans,  so his enthusiasm for ā€˜meet and greet’ opportunities, is very good for me.

Not to waffle too much, here lol… we drove the hundred or so k’s to Macksville, much to Frankie’s chagrin, before settling in for a long, leisurely walk along the riverside and a fairly peaceful night near the pool, before moving on. I did what I always try to do and took my boy for a walk to settle his energies down and then broke that hundred or so k journey with a stopover halfway for breakfast for me and a ā€œsniffariā€ for him šŸ˜€

I had some parcels to pick up from my beautiful daughter so Coffs Harbour seemed the perfect place to spend a few days before finally coming  to Glenreagh for a couple of weeks playtime….one of those parcels was a new harness for Frankie. He might only be 8kgs but he is all muscle and pulls like a rotti…. My friend’s surprise announcement lol… I got him a Pawezy which has a ring at the front underneath and is finally giving me some relief as both my shoulders have suffered horribly and no amount (two years worth) of training has had any effect on his stubbornness lol… I have only been using it for four days but so far so good. I am not naĆÆve enough to think my rebellious boy won’t try to buck the system lol but fingers crossed the harness wins out for the sake of his human’s shoulders … and patience! Sigh…

As you can see by the photo I chose to accompany this blog, there is a beautiful Peacock that lives here and visits … I call him the security guard but some might consider him more the local sticky beak lol… I hope you are having a wonderful week/month. Blessings to all till next blog xx its time for Frankie and I to enjoy the sunshine and blue skies again
