now to become for one post your light comedy entertainment lol….

Right, a new day and a great sleep insists I put up this post lol… you see I have a habit of making an entrance, never on purpose but simply because trouble has a particular liking for perching upon these shoulders of mine. I rocked up to the local airport, had my bags weighed and collected my boarding ticket.. no worries! Then I purchased a magazine (mainly for the crosswords lol) and headed for the security entrance to the departure lounge.

So far so good.. yayyyyyyy .. I had the things I could not put into the hold in my luggage I was going to take with me on the plane and felt I should sail through no worries .. mind you I had not reckoned on my blondeness kicking in this trip 😛 I took my laptop out of its case and put it in its own tray as instructed; I used another tray for my bag and confidently walked the metal detector… and sent it into a frenzy of activity! Hmmmm….

The nice guard asked if I had a belt on.. oh bugger, forgot that and it has a rather large cowboy type metal buckle on it lol! Back I go, remove the offending article and pop it in its own tray and give it another go… yep, set the damn thing off again :s Back I go and on advice I remove my boots. By this time I have managed to gather a rather amused audience and in my usual fashion, I used humour to help me cover my embarrassment at being the centre of attention, casually informing them not to worry, I am just doing a slow strip here to keep myself amused LOL.. everyone grinned and off I went for another go. Third time lucky right? Wrong! arghhhhhhhhhhh ok so now the guard is asking me if I have my mobile phone on me.. negative mate, I may be blonde but not that blonde LOL… hmmmm did I have my knee reconstructed then?? Nope! Thankfully have not needed that LOL…. what could it be then? He spied some metal buttons on my jacket and so I had to lose that too. By now I have four or five trays to collect on the other side LOL… the guard shakes his head and says that the machine had such a strong reaction he was amazed it was any of those items. Again I walk through and again it goes off! This time, we both notice the nice little collection of silvery bangles I have on, bought especially for the trip LOl.. yep, got the culprit at last. Laughing with both relief and amusement now it was over, I collected my stuff, got dressed again and headed for the lounge..not so fast Sandy! This same guy now insists he is ‘random’ (ahem) choosing me to check for drugs in my hand held luggage and on my person. I patiently put up with his check and with nary a look back I am at last off to sit and wait for the plane, praying that this trip will be a hell of a lot less umm blonde than the beginning 😛

Now I have covered my learning curve in the previous post. Suffice it to say though that I had a lot of good times and in the end I was glad I went on all levels. Finally back at Melbourne Airport for my trip home, I couldn’t help but be excited about leaving this last week behind. Swings and roundabouts not withstanding, I realised there is nothing like being with those who love and accept you for who you are. No walking on eggshells now though at times we do get upset at each other. The love that never dissipates always brings us back to harmony and I had missed that feeling, not to mention my beloved Alex.

I got on the end of the long line, greeted immediately with a message that my plane was half hour late. Well, it happens. Gives me more time to relax and that’s always a good thing right? 🙂 The half hour came and so did another announcement. Apparently now my flight was going to be delayed indefinitely due to ‘technical difficulties’ .. oh boy here we go again! I had not had any hitches going through those gates and didn’t even rate a quick once-over from the guy randomly checking passengers for drugs lol…
I was beginning to not feel amused. It had been a huge week and at times awkward to say the least. I am not good in those kinds of atmospheres so the strain had taken its toll. However I met some awesome people while I waited and we all joked about how Melbourne knew good people when it saw us and had issues with letting go hehe. We were given some free refreshments and offered many apologies. The staff could not be held responsible, stuff happens and they too were on their last flight before ending their shift.
Around five to one…. two hours after I was supposed to go … an announcement came over the loudspeaker that our flight was at last ready for us to board. Woohoo … I couldn’t wait to get on that plane, though the technical difficulty thing was a tad worrying lol…

We all boarded, stowed our luggage and buckled up. I was in the window seat next to the emergency exit over the wing just as I had been on the way there. We were given a different set of instructions in case that emergency happened and we were needed to help out. Made me feel a bit wobbly considering and I sent a silent prayer up for protection.

After 20 minutes of preparation and waiting to take off, the pilot announced that the technical difficulty had not after all been resolved and we were all instructed to head back to the lounge. Apparently now they had decided it would be pertinent to put us on another plane! hahahahahaha ya have to laugh even if it is through gritted teeth LOLOL.
We were taken to a different waiting lounge and after another thirty five minutes finally boarded AND took off. Bye Melbourne, not sure I want to have much to do with you for awhile…but its been an experience LOL.. I would do it again though if I had a chance to go back, maybe that’s the secret, the universe always has a purpose and as long as you go with the flow, the overall experience is exactly what you were seeking. The previous post will tell you that and the joy of a holiday was in the end not really diminished by life’s little school stints 🙂 Ciao for now, hope you all have a most wondrous week 😀
