From Bendigo to Barham….

Hello again,
I had a few glitches via the internet but I am back ontrack lol… and boy have I seen some sights 🙂 I DID get to see my lovely Sara… we spent a few hours together on the Friday night and parted company around 2am! Neither of us could believe the time had gone so fast but oh it was wonderful to spend some time with her. We have not seen each other in around fourteen years and so much had happened in that time. We both read tarot so a swap reading was in order too lol.. well when I think on it, it is not wonder we parted company in the wee hours; I am hoping it won’t be so long till we catch up again, the company was so easy and I felt as if we had seen each other not long ago. It is not easy to find someone who makes you feel comfortable in your own skin so to speak. I never once felt I needed to do or be anything other than who I am…..
I stayed on for another day though just the same as Bendigo was hosting their annual Golden Race Day as I found out via the news that day lol.. ahh well. I had found a more private spot by then along that lovely lake and my motorhome was now parked beneath some beautiful willow trees 🙂 Oh yeah its still the life for me, I mused as I sat in their shade and soaked up the silence. The only problem for me there was I had no access to a water tap, so on the Saturday as I watched the sink tap spit, I decided I needed to go for a walk and find one I could screw my hose onto. Yeah well good in theory, though I have since been told the way to get around the problem I have been encountering for so long now. You see most councils take the handle off the tap and you cannot get at the water. There is a contraption for that which I have now but didn’t then lol..anyway in desperation I asked the fuel station diagonally across the road from me if I could use theirs. I had noted they had one behind the car wash when I went earlier to investigate their lovely low diesel price! Yep, no worries I was told. The guy I talked to was very flirty and I was quite taken aback when he asked me if I was travelling alone. One of the things Sara had counselled me about was not letting anyone know that detail. I am a terrible liar and so I said nope, with the dog LOL.. in future I will say I am travelling with Alex but not elaborate on it being a dog I am talking about lol.. anyway his eyes lit up and he asked me when I was leaving… I told him the next day. He was quite disappointed and said he was hoping to show me around lol.. uh huh… anyways I just smiled and said maybe next time… wrong words Sandy! To my surprise he showed up at the motorhome around an hour and a half later, apparently on his lunch hour! Grrr.. ahh well I can be very firm though polite when necessary. He was now offering me that evening out.. okie dokie sure LOL… I decided to fib and informed him my boyfriend was meeting up with me the next day and I do not cheat. Well I don’t cheat, thats the truth.. no boyfriend but a good idea to invent one. LOL.. he still sat though he expressed disappointment about the boyfriend and began a conversation about dogs. It would seem he breeds some. Ok.. as he warmed to his subject he let slip he has a girlfriend. One of my pet peeves are cheats! I said that even if I had not been attached I would never do to another what I would not have done to me. He did have the good grace to blush as he told me he has had other women and no, they were not really boyfriend and girlfriend but friends with beneifits LOL. I know all about that, have done it myself though I won’t go into detail here. Anyway I then said its good she knows.. bwahahahahaha you should have seen his face, the truth written all over it… anyway to cut this very long and detailed piece of the story short, I sent him off red faced and embarrassed, with no result where I am concerned. I made a mental note right there that I would not be so friendly again, I never realise till its too late that men see or hear what they want to,not necessarily what is there.

Around 9am on the Sunday I set out for Echuca, stopping here and there to take in the sights around Bendigo itself; namely a most beautiful lake. I had done my window shopping while waiting for the crowds on the road to thin so there was not much more to do for me there. I headed out on the road and turned up the music.. ahh loving it I was LOL… I got to Echuca by 11 or so, found the perfect park too! A long vehicle park beside a park with another lake in it lol, trees surrounding it.I am a very lucky parker I have decided. Alex and I went for a walk to the ladies, he did his on the way of course, and then I headed back to make a cuppa and decide what I wanted to do first. It was the Celtic Festival in Echuca so it was even busier than usual but oh so upbeat!
After my cuppa I locked up and Alex and I went wandering around the town. First thing I saw was a mitre ten where I could buy that gadget I needed for the taps! Fixed that I mused happily, found a fresh fruit and veggie place and restocked with those too and headed back to themotorhome to put them away.
Next I headed for the Historic Port where the beautiful old Steamers still run. I spent a lot of time down there because there was lots of entertainment on. There were Irish bands performing both in the Port area and all the pubs, some dressed up even with bright orange beards lol… it was lots of fun and since Alex was actually behaving I stayed on for longer than I meant to. Then it was off to find a camp near the Murray which I will tell you about in the next post…..
