A Cool Change At Last

Today is 25th November, 2011. It is our consecutive day of torrential rain. I know some are really not into the rains up this way but it is after all part and parcel of living in a sub-tropical area. I was sitting in front of my monitor and listening to the rain as it bombarded the roof, guttering and garden. Now grey skies can bring out the maudlin side of me but this morning instead a little verse floated through my mind. I have written it down because it has a cadence that is, at least for me, uplifting.
It goes as follows:

Gentle rain from up above
mixed with universal love
brings to life the rainbow’s hue
and mother earth is born anew.

My heart is lifted once again;
Cleansed at last from childhood pain.
With gratitude I face my day
And let forgiveness light my way.
